Designer Estimator Project Manager

Job Description

You will work in-house with a busy projects team and will be responsible for producing detailed and competitive tenders, the measurement of tender drawings, reviewing specifications and handling the day to day material buying.

Ideally the applicant will have a track record in estimating functions, material buying and be able to read architectural drawings well and the ability to deal with tenders and orders from start to finish.

 

Duties

Initial duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • -Preparation of offer submissions:
  • -Measuring and Quantity Take-Off from drawings;
  • -Compiling tender enquiries including scheduling works and checking specifications
  • -Analysing quotations and putting together cost quotations 
  • -Obtaining prices for materials, and the subsequent purchasing of materials 
  • -Providing relevant information to Senior Management to enable commercial decisions to take place
  • -Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well organised work schedule.
  • -Undertake any ad-hoc duties as may be required within the Purchasing function
  • -Develop and maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations;
  • -Perform other duties as assigned by the Director

 

Skills and Experience

  •  -A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Engineering Management is ideal but not obligatory alternatively 2/3 years’ experience in a similar role would be considered
  •  -Applicant will be a fast learner to develop a good understanding of our product portfolio and the ability to read, understand and measure drawings
  • -Display high capability of extracting quantities from drawings and ensure that accurate pricing is delivered within specified time frames
  • -Computer literate in Microsoft Office suite , Dropbox, CAD etc
  • -Good written and oral communication skills
  • -Experience as a Materials Buyer
  • -Ability to work quickly and to tight deadlines
  • -Ability to work alone with limited supervision
  • -Communicate effectively and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and customers
  • -Computer literacy is essential, CAD knowledge prefered 
  • -Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at once
  • -Self-starter and ability to organise the workday around assigned activities and priorities with minimum supervision
  • -Ability to work successfully as part of a team
