Our client are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor from a civil's and ground works background to join our clients team in Glasgow on a permanent staff basis.
Our client are market leaders in providing quality solutions in the Civil engineering sector and are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join their ever growing organisation. The right candidate will be able to identify with the following specifications:

Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business
unit level
Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place
Carry out cost management including forecasting
Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit
Actively seek to improve processes and procedures
Hold a good understanding of the processes and procedures used by organisation that
we are working within, and assist in their development and improvement
External relationships
Ensure that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and
Build and maintain good client relationships
Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting
Prepare applications for payment
Liaise with the client, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues,
including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments
Internal relationships
Share best practice with others and be proactive in advising site teams on costs and
management of them
Previous experience of the Civil and Ground works sectors.
HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
At least 3/5 years experience in a similar role.
Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
Have knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis
Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to work effectively in a team and delegate, but also able to work on own initiative
