Job Description

Who you’ll be working for:
One of Irelands largest and leading civil engineering main contractors, working across Ireland and the UK, with a turnover of €300mil, employing over 1000 staff, have a current opportunity for a site engineer, to join their team, initially on a project in Ipswich, UK.
  
What you’ll need to have:
The successful candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management, 3-4 years + experience working on heavy civil projects including, Roads, Wind Farms, Pipelines (Gas/Water), Bridges, etc.
 
The role will require the successful candidate to have held responsibility / experience of various aspects on site, including Quality, H&S, Pricing, liaising with clients, as well as setting out playing a small aspect of this role.
 
 What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors
  • Setting out, levelling and surveying the site
  • Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
  • Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant
  • Agreeing a price for materials and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project
  • Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
  • Liaising with the local authorities
  • Communicating with clients
  • Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
  • Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
  • Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site
  • Preparing reports as required
  • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

What you’ll get in return
An excellent package will be put in place for the successful candidate, with a basic salary of £35,000 £40,000 + Package (Travel, Accommodation, Living away allowance, etc)
